The word Veritas means truth which is a perfect name for this line of speakers. When contemplating a slogan for this speaker line back in it’s initial development the engineers and product managers found a slogan that was so simple and elegant that it was perfect. Musical Truth was born. Since then the Musical Truth carried on the legend with the Veritas 2 and now with the refreshed Veritas line. The legend lives on. 

 

The Veritas Series of speakers represent the Energy brand’s greatest sound achievement. Handcrafted and engineered using only the best materials and technology, these finely tuned speakers deliver brilliant audio clarity with deep, powerful bass. Kevlar woofers greatly reduce distortion compared to conventional woofers. The real difference, however, comes from the brand’s proprietary Convergent Source Module, or CSM, an extraordinary innovation that provides accurate treble and midrange response with wide dispersion. 

 

The Convergent Source Module (CSM)
The CSM is a tweeter/midrange transducer that covers from 20kHz all the way down to 150Hz – including the most sensitive range of human hearing – and acts as a single point source for high and mid-frequencies with extremely wide and even dispersion.
 
The aluminum dome tweeter now has a neodymium motor that allows the tweeter and the midrange driver to have a closer proximity to one another. This along with a simple, but elegant crossover allows the new Veritas loudspeakers to operate in a near perfect phase coherency. The CSM woofer is crafted from a Kevlar material which is lightweight and strong. The added strength and quickness of the driver will result in higher power handling and better acoustical performance.
 
Advantage: A single point source for high and mid-frequencies with extremely wide and even dispersion.
Benefit: The ability to have a large and wide listening area filled with the most accurate sound, so that the audience can hear everything the director intended them to hear.

 

Aluminimum Phase plug and ribbed elliptical surround
A solid aluminum Phase Plug helps minimize distortion as well as helps to dissipate heat from the top of the voice coil. The woofers also have a ribbed elliptical surround. This design raises output while reducing distortion by as much as 24%. The overall radiating area is kept more constant and travel linearity is improved to increase the useable piston area and move more air.

Phase plug benefit: Allows the woofers to be played louder and longer while staying cool which results in a realistic and distortion free reproduction of sound.

 

Ribbed Elliptical surround advantage: Helps raise output while lowering distortion.
Ribbed Elliptical surround benefit: Allows the woofer to play lower with more defined output and fidelity.

 

Tapered Crossover System
In the Energy Veritas Tapered Crossover System, one woofer is dedicated to reproducing the critical midrange frequencies, eliminating the potential for dispersion inconsistencies and resulting in improved imaging accuracy, flat response and drastically improved wide and constant dispersion.
 
Advantage: One woofer dedicated to midrange frequencies eliminating the potential for dispersion inconsistencies.
Benefit: Improves imaging accuracy, flat response and allows for wider and more constant dispersion over the wide listening area.

 

Cabinet finishes - Piano Quality Finish
Each cabinet goes through a lengthy process to obtain the finish that is as smooth as glass. Each cabinet starts with a high quality veneer, followed by the base coat, then a stain. After the stain has dried, they attach the Energy logo directly on top of the stained veneer. Then comes the eight layers of top coat which are hand sanded and buffed between each coat. Even though this process takes a lengthy amount of time, Energy concluded it is the only finish suitable for a speaker who’s slogan is "The Musical Truth".
